Hey everybody! I’m writing to you from the studio where we are recording our 4th CD :) The studio is in the hills of TN south of Nashville on a horse farm. It’s a work in progress, but we are really happy with what we’ve put together so far! It’s been great fun, and will be uploading pictures to the website so you can see what we’ve been doing soon (hopefully) :) With some luck, we’ll have it ready at the beginning of the summer. Keep an eye on the website for news when it’s ready. Send us an email, facebook us, or come say “hi” to us at a show. Our website has an updated schedule for you.

I can’t believe it! We went to Hartsford, SC to participate in the RenoFest band competition. We played last year and took third place, and were surprised then. This year we took first :) and we were shocked! The bands are always really good, and this year was no exception! We played with Flat Out Bluegrass and and the Flowers Family, just to name a few, and they are both excellent. When we played a few songs on stage that evening and got anounced as the winners, we got rained out — it was raining and VERY cold and the wind was gusting enough to knock things off the stage! But we played in between the banjo and guitar competitions, and had a lot of fun! We were on Channel 13 news and Gary had his picture in the paper, and everyone was so nice. We are excited to be able to play on the main stage next year and we were happy to see Rob and eveyrone from last year again. Hi everybody! It was great to be back in sunny Florida for the second time this month! The weather was awesome — I got to wear short sleeves outside :) We played thursday night at the restaurant and saturday in the tent, so we got to miss two days of school and go to Disney World on friday!!! It was so much fun! My parents love the Tower of Terror and John, Gary, and I enjoy Mission Space, Test Track, and Aerosmith’s Rockin’ Roller Coaster. At the festival on saturday I bought a lovely dress, we had excellent BBQ :) and Gary and I got to ride an elephant! It was very strange, but very cool :) We got to see the Moron Brothers — and they are FUNNY! And we played with so many great bands. It was good to see Peten and Ida again, and we were happy to see some folks we met at the Everglades.

Wow! What a great event! Everyone was so nice and happy to see us! We were glad to see our friend Vi, who was my dad’s neighbor when he lived in Coldwater :) The soup was AMAZING! (and Gary always loves their hot apple cider). To cap it all off, Gary turned 14 on stage at 9:14 pm, and the whole audience helped us sing him happy birthday!

We just finished our show in Florida and are on our way home. The shows were so much fun, and the people were SO nice! :) It was a little rainy and chilly on Saturday, and everyone was apologizing about the weather, but we were happy it was above freezing! Bad Florida weather is still way better than good Ohio weather. :) And Sunday’s weather was excellent (although it felt weird to wear short-sleeves in February)! It was sunny and warm, and the breeze was nice! Everyone was so hospitable, and worked their hardest to make us feel welcome, and we’d like to thank them for all their work. We had so much fun playing for everyone, and it was really nice to meet new people, since this was the first time we played in Miami. We just had a really great time, and we hope everyone who was there did too! :)

Hi everybody! We are on our way to Miami Beach, Florida, to play at the South Florida Bluegrass Association. We left Ohio ready to get out of the snow, and we ran into a blizzard on the way down! They were predicting 8 – 12 inches of snow in parts of West Virginia that we were driving through, and the wind gusted up to 40 mph! We were so afraid to stop that we just kept going and going – we didn’t want to get snowed into a hotel! We made it though, and will be arriving in Florida in a few hours, but it was an interesting (and snowy) trip! :)

Hi everybody! We had a GREAT weekend! We participated in the band competition this year, and we won 9th place! We were ecstatic just to make it to the second round, let alone finish! It was very gratifying to see our hard work pay off, and it was worth every minute of it. We spent a lot of time (when we weren’t practicing for our set) jamming. John stayed up really early to jam with some of his friends, and to meet some new ones. It was nice to catch up with everybody again, and Gary especially loved his reunion with Little Bit (the very cute dog at the T-shirt booth J). Stay safe on your drive home – watch out for all the snow! We’re supposed to get more on Tuesday, so John, Gary, and I are going to pray hard for a snow day J. Keep warm and dry, and we’ll see you down the road!

The Mountaineer Opry House Band Competition was canceled due to snow. They are trying to reschedule so keep in touch and we’ll keep you posted. Sorry we missed you! Hope you’re staying warm and dry.

We’d really like to thank Pete Peters and Campbell Mercer for getting us to play here! There were so many people! I heard 14,000! They were busing people in because there wasn’t enough parking in the place! There were vendors everywhere! I saw some really cute bookmarks that fold and clip over your page with magnets! One had a turtle on it! Lol! We toured Bill Monroe’s house which was interesting! We played on the Homestead Stage for a while and went back for a second set! It was so much fun :) We talked to so many people afterwards, and that was fun too! We got stuck in the mud trying to leave, and several people kindly helped push us out! We did get out though and headed back to IBMA for more jamming and FanFest.

What a blast! We showcased in the South Florida Bluegrass Association room, and we got our own room on wednesday night! We played 3 times and the Henhouse Prowlers and the Tina Adair Band played with us! A radio station interviewed us and filmed part of our show, so that was neat too! We played at the bluegrass inn on thursday, and then went back to the hotel and had some of the BEST pizza we’ve ever had! It was from a local place called Manny’s House of Pizza with New York-style pizza! Pepperoni is the best :) We saw the awards show, which was very cool (we had awesome seats!), and we saw Steve Martin! He is so funny! lol! I flew home saturday morning to go to homecoming at my highschool and everybody else drove back sunday. The plane flight from Nashville to Columbus was really short — we were barely up in the air before we were landing again! It took an hour plus boarding time, but the drive takes WAY longer than that! It was a very fun week and I know I was sad to go back to school again… :( Lol! See you soon!
